Hannah Spears Receives "Student of the Year" Award!
We are proud to shine a spotlight on Senior Bounder Hannah Spears, who received straight A's on her final report card and was honored as Student of the Year at Sig Rogich Middle School! Hannah's english teacher said that Hannah is not only an outstanding student but an amazing human being as well. Congratulations to Hannah!
Keigan McCullagh, Bounder and Budding Journalist
Greenspun Junior High awarded Keigan McCullagh The Belmont Award for Excellence and Dedication.
She was recognized as the newspaper staff's top overall journalist for valuable contribution to the 2015/2016 Gazette.

Bounder Earns Gold Award in French
Bounder Alex Robertson took a level 01 National French Exam, Le Grand Concours, along with 5549 students across the country. His score earned him a #1 ranking in the state of NV, #7 nationally, and earned him the Gold Award which means he scored in the 95th percentile, nationally. Alex attributes much of his success to hard work and his dynamic French teacher, Madame Griffith. We congratulate you, Alex, for this outstanding achievement. DCB is proud to have you be a part of our program.
Alexis Hilts Competes in Miss Nevada Scholarship Competition
DCB instructor and mentor, Alexis Hilts competed in the Miss Nevada Scholarship Competition as Miss Clark County. Her platform is titled More than a Princess- encouraging women to pursue careers in the STEM fields. In creating More than a Princess she drew upon her teaching experience to target girls and the issues they face in STEM fields. More than a Princess works to actively reject gendered socialization and negative gender stereotypes, which only serve to proliferate the gender gap. Alexis currently attends UNLV and is majoring in Political Science.
Ian McCue Earns High Honors at Faith Lutheran High School
At the Academic Awards Evening, DCB mentor, thinker, and volunteer Ian McCue, earned awards for Mathematics and Computer Science. His teachers said some really touching remarks that showed how remarkably well they know him. He also lettered in academics for his overall GPA. You are the man, sir!
Alex Robertson to Play at Carnegie Hall
Congratulations to Senior Bounder, Alex Robertson.
The American Association
for Development of the
Gifted and Talented (AADGT) recognized him with a silver medal for his outstanding performance of Mily Balakirevís Polka in F-sharp Minor. On June 14, 2015, Alex will perform at the Passion of Music Recital Concert at Weill Recital Hall at the Carnegie Hall in New York City. Alex has been playing piano since he was five years old. He has competed in numerous competitions, and due to years of hard work, enjoyed success, but this will be the first time playing at the famous Carnegie Hall.~When asked about the award and honor, Alex excitedly responded, “I am proud and feel I accomplished something great because not many young musicians earn this award. I am nervous, but I cannot wait to play at Carnegie Hall.” AADGT “has worked since 1993 with extraordinarily talented young musicians from around the world.
